Minced Fish Roll with Egg Filling (in the Oven)

All lovers of fish and fish cakes will love this delicate minced fish roll with egg filling and a crust of yolk and bread crumbs. The dish is easy to prepare, but it can decorate any festive table.

Ingredients

  • Fish fillet (pollock) – 500 g
  • Eggs – 3 pcs.
  • Yolks – 2 pcs.
  • Onions – 60 g (1 pcs.)
  • Butter – 70 g
  • Bread crumbs – 2 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil – 4 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Prepare all the ingredients you need. During cooking, you will need a cling film (I have a regular plastic bag).
  2. Hard boil the eggs (8-10 minutes after boiling) and cool. Peel and grate the eggs or finely chop.
  3. Peel the onion and chop finely. In a frying pan preheated with vegetable oil (2 tablespoons), fry the onion for 7 minutes, until soft, stirring occasionally. Remove skillet from heat and cool.
  4. Wash the fish fillets (I have pollock fillets) and pat dry with a paper towel. Chop the fillets into random pieces and chop with a blender or a meat grinder with a fine grid. Place the minced meat in a bowl.
  5. Add one yolk to a bowl of minced meat and mix thoroughly.
  6. Then add the fried onions to the minced meat. Pour in 1.5 tablespoon. tablespoons of bread crumbs.
  7. Season with salt and pepper and mix thoroughly. Turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees.
  8. Spread a cling film on the table and put the minced meat on it in the shape of a rectangle, the size of a baking dish and about 5-7 millimeters thick.
  9. Put the chopped eggs in an even layer on the layer of minced fish.
  10. Cut the butter into small thin pieces and spread evenly over the entire surface of the egg layer. Using a film, lightly pressing, form a tight, even roll from the minced meat.
  11. Pour the remaining vegetable oil (2 tablespoons) into a baking dish and grease the mold with it. Using the plastic, carefully transfer the roll into the mold and align.
  12. Beat the second yolk with a fork. Brush the surface of the roll with the yolk. Wait 1-2 minutes and brush the roll with yolk again.
  13. Sprinkle the remaining breadcrumbs on the roll and press down a little. Bake the roll for 1 hour (focus on your oven).
  14. Minced fish roll with egg filling is ready. Let the roll cool for 1-1.5 hours.
  15. Carefully remove the roll from the mold and cut into portions. Serve the roll to the table.
