Ingredients

  • 1 lemon (s), untreated
  • 5 juniper berries
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 stalk peppermint
  • 3 sage leaves
  • 1 stalk basil
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 sprigs rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon chamomile flowers
  • 2 clove (s)
  • 1 pinch (s) saffron
  • 3 tablespoon rock sugar, brown
  • 0.7 liters schnapps, double grain, 38%

Instructions

  1. Rub the zest of the lemon with a fine grater and squeeze the lemon. Mash the juniper berries and the cinnamon stick with a wide knife.
  2. Put all other ingredients together with the lemon juice, lemon peel, juniper and cinnamon in a well-sealable glass jar. Pour the double grain over. Let this herbal mixture steep in a dark place for about 10 days and shake occasionally.
  3. Then filter the mixture through a cheesecloth and fill it into glass bottles.

  5. Put all ingredients (except the grain) in a saucepan and bring to the boil with approx. 200 ml water. Let the brew simmer for about 5 minutes. Let it cool down overnight. The next day, filter off the herb stock and mix with the grain. Finished!
