Pilaf with Pumpkin, Apples and Quince

Juicy and aromatic pilaf with pumpkin, apples and quince is not only a tasty, but also a healthy dish that you can delight your loved ones with, both for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • Rice (better steamed) – 200 g
  • Pumpkin – 300 g
  • Apples – 2 pcs.
  • Quince – 1 pc.
  • Butter – 60 g
  • Raisins – 70 g
  • Water – 500 ml
  • Honey, for serving (optional) – to taste

Directions

  1. Prepare the required ingredients. Rinse the rice in water several times. Better to use parboiled rice – it cooks faster and does not boil over.
  2. Rinse apples and quince in water, peel and cut into medium cubes.
  3. Toss with raisins.
  4. Peel the pumpkin, rinse in water and cut into large cubes.
  5. Melt the butter in a cauldron.
  6. Place the pumpkin slices in it.
  7. Add half of the washed rice.
  8. Add half of the raisin fruit.
  9. Add the remaining rice.
  10. Add the rest of the fruit slices and pour in the hot water. Place the cauldron on the stove, turning on the minimum heat, and simmer the rice with pumpkin and fruits for about 50-60 minutes, watching the liquid boil.
  11. As soon as the liquid boils away, the pilaf will be ready.
  12. Spoon the pumpkin pilaf onto a plate and serve. If you like sweet food, then pour it over with honey.
