Ingredients

  • 200 g spelled flour (type 630) or
  • Whole Wheat Flour
  • 250 g spelled flour (type 1050) or
  • Whole Wheat Flour (Type 1050)
  • 0.75 ¾ pack yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 large jacket potato (s), grated or strained through a sieve
  • 425 ml milk (1.5% fat)
  • 75 g mararine (health food mararine)
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 150 g walnuts
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour with yeast and sugar, mix with lukewarm milk, potatoes, liquid margarine and sea salt. Before the dough sticks together, add the walnuts, knead in until the dough becomes supple and no longer sticks. Shape a loaf or put it in the bread or loaf pan and let rise for about 2 hours.
  2. Brush with egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven at 200 ° C for approx. 45 - 50 minutes. The bread is moist and goes well with cheese. It tastes very good if you let it rest for 1 to 2 days.
