Ingredients

  • 42 g yeast
  • 300 ml buttermilk, lukewarm
  • 300 g potato (s), boiled
  • 500g flour
  • 1 teaspoon, heaped salt
  • 1 pinch nutmeg, freshly grated
  • 150 g walnuts, chopped

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm buttermilk. Peel the cooked potatoes while they are still warm and press them through a potato press. Place in a mixing bowl with the flour and add salt, nutmeg and walnuts. Also add the yeast-buttermilk mixture and knead everything together to form a smooth, soft dough. Cover and let the dough rise to double volume in a warm place.
  2. Put in a loaf pan (30 cm long) and let rise for another 15 minutes. Then bake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
