Quick Puff Pastry in 15 Minutes

I propose an excellent and very simple recipe for puff pastry, with a little secret! The cooking process takes no more than 10 or 15 minutes, not including the cooling time! Such unleavened puff pastry, so to speak universal, is an excellent base for both sweet and savory pastries. You can make pizza, pies, pies, rolls from this puff pastry, you can even bake cakes for Napoleon.

Ingredients

  • Butter or margarine – 200 g
  • Water (ice cold) – 300 ml
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Flour – 550-600 g
  • Vinegar (9%) – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon

Directions

  1. The flour must first be sieved.
  2. Pour ice water into a separate bowl.
  3. Add vinegar.
  4. Add salt and egg.
  5. Mix everything well.
  6. Then combine the liquid mixture with sifted flour and knead the dough.
  7. The consistency of the dough should not be very tight, but rather elastic, soft and not sticky to the hands.
  8. Place the dough on a floured table and divide into two equal parts.
  9. Roll out the first part as thin as possible, the dough should be about 3-5 mm thick.
  10. Divide the soft butter in half. Put one half on the rolled dough and spread it over a thick layer of dough.
  11. Then roll out the second part of the dough like the first, as thin as possible. Place on top of the first rolled part so that the edges match, and generously grease the second part of the dough with butter.
  12. Fold the layers of dough into a tight roll.
  13. Then roll the roll into a tight snail.
  14. This is the secret of making a quick puff pastry – many layers are formed in a roll rolled into a snail, the same layering of the dough!
  15. Wrap the dough snail in plastic wrap or in a bag.
  16. Put in the freezer for 15 minutes or in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  17. Remove the dough from the refrigerator, flatten the snail on top and roll it out again (this is the last time).
  18. Then fold the quick puff pastry into an envelope.
  19. And freeze the dough for future use. Or you can jump right into your favorite puff pastry!
  20. The quick puff pastry is ready.
    The output of puff pastry from the specified number of products is 1.2 kg.
