Ingredients
- 2 packs fish fillet (s) (matjes), ready to cook
- 1 cup salad (meat salad)
- 3 medium pickled cucumber (s)
- 4 apples, tender
- 1 large onion (s)
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- salt and pepper
- 1 small Glass capers
- 12 potato (s), waxy, boiled the day before
- 1 pinch (s) sugar if necessary
- possibly cucumber liquid if necessary
- Maggi, some splashes it
For decoration:
- N / A Egg (s), hard-boiled, quartered
- Tomato (s), finely chopped
- parsley

- Soak the herring fillets in water, pat dry and cut into small pieces. Put the meat salad in a slightly larger bowl - so that you can easily lift the ingredients in it - and add the fish. Cut the pickles into small cubes, add them and mix carefully. Peel the apples, chop them into small cubes and add them in the same way - stir well after each new ingredient. Peel the onion and cut or grate it into very fine cubes, also add to the salad. Peel the potatoes boiled the day before, cut into small cubes and add - carefully fold in each potato added. Now mix the yogurt, mayonnaise and mustard together and add to the salad. If the salad is too firm, add a little cucumber liquid. Mix in the capers. Let the salad soak in a cool room for a night.
- Place in a warmer room two to three hours before serving and then season the salad with the spices - possibly add a pinch of sugar and definitely add a few dashes of Maggi.
- Garnish the salad with hard-boiled egg quarters and tomatoes and parsley.
- Since the salad is quite compact, dry rolls or baguette rolls are served with it.
