Ingredients

  • 125 ml milk
  • 250 g whole wheat flour
  • 0.5 ½ point dry yeast
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ honey
  • 100 g butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ sea salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • Sesame seeds for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Warm milk with honey. Mix the yeast with the flour, add the milk, salt and butter, knead (possibly with a dough hook). Shape the dough into a roll, cut into strips and use them to form approx. 12 cm long sticks. Place the sticks on a baking sheet. Whisk the water with the egg yolk, brush the sticks with it and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  2. Bake in a hot oven at 220 ° C top / bottom heat for approx. 10 - 15 minutes.
  3. Tip: If you like, you can sprinkle the sticks with poppy seeds, chopped nuts or cheese.
