Ingredients

  • 200 ml tomato (s), passed
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 can ½ corn
  • 1 tablespoon rapeseed oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder, noble sweet
  • 1 pinch (s) garlic granules
  • 1 pinch (s) ginger powder
  • 2 teaspoons oregano, grated
  • Black pepper
  • Cayenne pepper
  • possibly cream

Instructions

  1. Put the tomatoes, sugar, salt, corn and oil in a saucepan, stir and bring to the boil. For a more intense corn taste, some of the corn water from the can can be stirred in. Add the spices and let steep for about 5 minutes over low heat. Possibly add seasoning. For a softer taste, cream (sweet or sour) can also be mixed in.
  2. Variations:
  3. The sauce can be refined with vegetables such as peas and other spices. More sugar or the addition of honey will make the sauce sweeter. Chopped almonds and hazelnuts are also suitable for rice.
  4. By adding water and tomato paste, you can quickly conjure up a tomato soup out of the sauce (season with vegetable broth if necessary).
