Stir-Fry Broccoli

First, the broccoli is quickly fried over high heat and then cooked for a couple of minutes with a hot sauce.

Ingredients

  • Broccoli (cut into small inflorescences) – 2 heads
  • Fresh ginger (chopped on a grater) – 1 teaspoon.
  • Garlic (minced) – 1 clove
  • Ground red pepper – 1 pinch
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
  • Soy sauce – 2 tbsp
  • Corn starch – 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar – 1 tbsp
  • Sesame seeds (fried) – 1 teaspoon

Directions

  1. Heat the oil in a wok or other large skillet over high heat. Put broccoli inflorescences in a pan, fry, stirring quickly, for 4-5 minutes. Then reduce heat to medium.
  2. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, starch, sugar, ginger, garlic, and red pepper. Add this mixture to the broccoli pan, cook, stirring occasionally, for about 2-3 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
  3. Transfer the cabbage to a serving plate, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve immediately.
