Ingredients

  • 1 kg red cabbage
  • 2 onion (s), finely chopped
  • 1 liter water
  • 250 ml vinegar
  • 1 pinch (s) salt
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 250 g butter

Instructions

  1. Cut the red cabbage into small pieces, preferably with a food processor. Bring a large saucepan of water and vinegar to a boil. Add the chopped onions, then sprinkle in the sugar and salt. Cook for about 2 minutes, then add the red cabbage. Let simmer for approx. 60 - 90 minutes. Finally, add the butter cut into small pieces and switch off the stove.
  2. Tastes best if you do this the day before.
  3. Is a traditional recipe from my father.
