Ingredients

  • 220 g wheat flour
  • 62 ½ ml water, warm
  • 0.25 teaspoon ¼ baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 2 ½ tablespoons lard or oil

Instructions

  1. Put the flour, baking powder, salt and lard or oil in a bowl and mix together. Gradually add the lukewarm water and knead the dough until it is smooth and no longer sticks to your hands. Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  2. Then shape into even balls and roll out one after the other into thin flatbreads or shape with your hands. Then bake the flatbreads one after the other in a pan (without oil etc.) over high heat for about 1 minute on one side, then for 1 more minute on the other side and then bake for another 1 minute on the first side.
  3. Wrap the tortillas in a towel to keep them warm.
