Zucchini with Onions, Stewed in Sour Cream and Garlic Sauce

Zucchini with onions, stewed in sour cream and garlic, soaked in the sauce and turn out tender and juicy. Well, you can’t expect such a tasty dish with such a minimal set of products, simplicity and ease of preparation! This vegetable dish will definitely win you over!

Cook: 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • Zucchini – 1 pc. (500 g)
  • Bulb onions – 0.5 pcs.
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Sour cream – 120 g
  • Flour – 1.5 tbsp
  • Water – 100 ml
  • Sunflower oil – 50 ml
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Wash the young zucchini, cut off the edges. Cut the zucchini into 1 cm thick slices.
  2. In a bowl, combine the flour and salt and coat the zucchini slices on both sides.
  3. Heat the sunflower oil in a skillet and fry the zucchini in portions over high heat until they are unevenly golden brown on both sides.
  4. Transfer the fried zucchini to a plate.
  5. Peel the onion and cut it into half rings or quarter rings.
  6. Fry the onions in sunflower oil until golden brown. Transfer the fried onions to a plate. Wipe off the pan.
  7. In a bowl, combine sour cream, chopped garlic, salt, and black pepper.
  8. Pour in water and stir.
  9. Place a layer of zucchini and a layer of onions in the pan. Top with the remaining zucchini. Pour the sour cream sauce over the zucchini and onion.
  10. Simmer zucchini with onions in sour cream sauce over low heat for about 20 minutes.
  11. Zucchini with onions stewed in sour cream is ready. Serve zucchini as a stand-alone dish or as a side dish.
