Butter Pie with Raisins

Such a yeast dough cake with sweet raisins can be prepared for the winter holidays, because it resembles a snowflake in shape.

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour – 250 g
  • Sugar – 50 g
  • Pressed yeast – 15 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Semolina – 15 g
  • Butter – 50 g
  • Milk – 120 ml
  • Salt – 1 pinch
  • Vanillin – 1 pinch
  • or vanilla sugar – 10 g
  • Raisins – 80 g

Directions

  1. Prepare all ingredients. For yeast dough, it is best if all ingredients are not cold, so remove everything from the refrigerator about 1 hour before cooking.
  2. Pour the raisins with boiling water and leave for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Boil the milk in a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Pour in the semolina, mix and cook over low heat for 3-4 minutes.
  4. The porridge will turn out to be thin. Cool it down, transfer to a deep mixing bowl.
  5. Pour sugar into the cooled warm semolina porridge. If you like sweeter pastries, you can safely double the amount of sugar.
  6. Crumble the yeast and dissolve in warm sweet semolina porridge, stir until dissolved.
  7. Add vanillin or vanilla sugar, salt and beat in an egg. Stir.
  8. Melt the butter lightly in the microwave and add to the dough. Stir.
  9. Throw the steamed raisins in a colander to free them from the liquid and add to the bowl with the rest of the ingredients. Stir.
  10. Add the sifted wheat flour little by little and knead the dough.
  11. You may need more flour, it depends both on the flour itself and on the size of the egg, for example. The dough should be soft, but keep its shape well and not stick to your hands.
  12. Place the bowl of dough in a warm place for 60 minutes, after covering the surface of the bowl with cling film. The yeast dough should grow 2-3 times.
  13. Crumple the dough, transfer it to a flat surface and use a rolling pin to roll it into a circle about 1.5 cm thick.The dia turned out to be about 40 cm.
  14. Transfer the circle to a baking sheet (you can cover it with parchment). Make eight cuts, dividing the circle into eight sections. Do not reach the center about 3-4 cm.
  15. In each segment, make a cut in the middle with a sharp knife.
  16. Pass the wide end of each segment into the incision and rotate around its axis once.
  17. Leave the snowflake cake warm for 20 minutes so that the dough comes up again.
  18. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 25 minutes. The cake will turn brown and rise even higher.
  19. Make the slightly cooled raisin pie even more like a snowflake. To do this, sprinkle it abundantly with powdered sugar.
  20. The raisin yeast pie is ready, you can serve it.
  21. Such an airy, beautiful, tasty and aromatic cake will be especially tasty with a glass of warm milk or a cup of chocolate cocoa.
