Chinese Steamed Green Onion Buns

Today, an interesting recipe for a lean and tasty dish is Chinese steamed buns made from yeast dough, with green onions! Everything is very simple and delicious! The products are the most common, the taste is excellent!

Ingredients

  • Flour – 600 g
  • Salt – 6 g for the dough + for the filling
  • Warm water (35 degrees) – 340 ml
  • Dry yeast – 2 teaspoon
  • Green onions – 1 bunch
  • Vegetable oil
  • Five spice mixture – for sprinkling

For the 5 spice mix:

  • Sichuan pepper – 20 g
  • Star anise – 20 g
  • Cumin – 10 g
  • Cinnamon (can be ground) – 10 g
  • Dried garlic – 8 g

Directions

  1. Preparing food. Grind the spices in a mortar.
  2. We dilute the yeast in warm water and put it in a warm place for 5 minutes.
  3. Add salt to the flour and pour out the yeast.
  4. We knead the dough. Cover with foil and put in a warm place for an hour.
  5. Finely chop the green onion.
  6. Roll out the dough into a thin rectangle, grease with oil, sprinkle with salt and spices, add green onions. Roll up tightly.
  7. Cut into pieces 4 cm thick.
  8. We take two blanks of the roll, put one with the seam up, the second on it. Press with a Chinese stick sprinkled with flour. Two rolls stick together and open like a flower (do not forget to pull out the stick :)).
  9. We put the buns made of yeast dough for proofing for 10 minutes.
  10. Then we send the yeast buns with green onions to the double boiler for 15 minutes, and the Chinese steamed buns are ready!
