Ingredients
- 275 g flour
- 1 pck. Custard powder, chocolate or
- 40 g cornstarch
- 80 g cocoa powder, sweetened or unsweetened
- 150 grams sugar
- 1 packet vanilla sugar
- 1 egg (s)
- 1 pinch (s) salt
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 0.5 teaspoon ½ baking soda
- 300 ml buttermilk
- 80 g butter, very soft

- In a bowl, mix the flour with the custard powder or starch, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda. You can also add chopped chocolate if you like.
- In another bowl, beat the egg, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt until frothy. Add the butter and keep beating. Carefully add the buttermilk and continue to beat briefly.
- Now add the dry ingredients to the moist ones and stir only until they have combined. The best way to do this is with a wooden spoon.
- Grease 12 muffin tins well and fill 2/3 with the batter. Put the tins in the preheated oven and bake for a good 20 minutes at 180 ° C top / bottom heat or 165 ° C fan oven.
