Covering:
Bring the milk to the boil, then add the poppy seeds and simmer a little while stirring constantly. Warning: bubbles and is very hot! Slowly trickle in the semolina while stirring, then stir in the sugar. Mix in the eggs and butter. Take off the stove and let stand briefly.
Ground:
Stir butter until creamy, stir in sugar and vanilla sugar, add 2 eggs and stir again. Mix the flour and baking powder and then stir into the mixture. Spread the dough with floured hands on a greased baking tray.
Then distribute the topping on the floor. Bake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 40 minutes.
Tip: You can get ground poppy seeds at the bakery or in health food stores. It is usually cheaper at the bakery. For poppy seed fans: Simply use 500 g poppy seeds and 500 g sugar.
