Filipino Bread (Pandesal)

I add crackers and I have perfect buns. Before sharing with you, I prepared these buns for two days in a row! And they still ask at home, very tasty dough! Creamy aroma, a delicate crumb, and crisp! Good both hot and cold! Repeat if you don’t believe it. 🙂

Ingredients

  • Flour – 550 g
  • Butter (softened) – 80 g
  • Water (warm) – 375 ml
  • Bread crumbs – 50 g per dough + 50 g for sprinkling
  • Powdered milk – 40 g
  • Dry yeast – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1/2 teaspoon

Directions

  1. Make a depression in a bowl of flour, pour in warm water, and pour in the yeast. Let it stand for 5-7 minutes to activate the yeast. Then we introduce salt, 50 g of crackers, and milk powder. We knead the dough.
  2. Add soft butter when the dough is well collected in a ball. We knead for ten minutes.
  3. Cover the bun dough with plastic wrap or a damp towel, let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  4. Lightly knead the finished dough and divide it into two parts. We form two thick sausages. When working, add crackers so that the dough does not stick.
  5. Sprinkle the prepared dough sausages well with breadcrumbs and divide each into 8 parts. Let the buns stand on a baking sheet for about 20 minutes. Heat the oven to 200 degrees.
  6. We bake Filipino bread until tender – you will see a beautiful blush! The recipe impressed with its simplicity, and the buns surprised and delighted with their taste! Cook for health!
