Homemade Corn Dogs (Sausages in Dough)

Ingredients
- “Baby” sausages – 350 g
- Egg – 1 pc.
- Milk – 50-100 ml
- Wheat flour – 100 g (for dough) + for preparing sausages
- Corn flour – 100 g
- Baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt – 1/3 teaspoon
- Sugar – 1/2 teaspoon with a slide
- Refined vegetable oil – for deep fat
Directions
- We prepare sausages and vegetable oil. Sausages are best taken small in size – it will be more convenient to cook this way and you will need much less oil for deep frying. Also, for the preparation of root dogs, we need wooden (bamboo) skewers.
- Cooking the dough. To do this, mix all the bulk ingredients in a deep container. Add egg and milk, knead the dough. Add milk a little at a time so as not to lose the consistency.
- The dough should be vicious and moderately thick.
- Sausages must be rolled in flour for the dough to “cling” better. At this time, you can already put the vegetable oil for deep-fat on the stove.
- We string each sausage on a skewer.
- We dip the sausages in the dough.
- Now the matter remains small: you need to deep-fry the sausages until golden brown, this will take only a few minutes.
