- 0.5 ½ cup water
- 0.25 ¼ cup butter
- 2 cup wheat flour, smooth, 405
- 1 ½ cup flour, approx.
- 1 sachet dry yeast
- 0.5 teaspoon ½ sugar
- 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
- 1 egg (s)

- Mix the milk, water and butter in a small saucepan and heat to approx. 50 ° C.
- In a large bowl, mix 2 cups of flour with sugar, salt and dry yeast and slowly stir in the warm liquid. Then only beat the egg and mix well again. Mix and knead the rest of the flour half a cup at a time. When the dough is reasonably consistent, knead really well on a lightly floured and smooth surface (takes about 6-10 minutes for me). Then divide the dough into about 12 pieces of equal size (16 are enough for hot dogs) and roll into the desired shape (small patties for burgers, small elongated sausages for hot dogs) and place on a greased baking sheet or baking paper. Then cover and let rest for about 30 minutes.
- Bake at preheated 200 ° C top / bottom heat (180 ° C hot air) for about 10 - 12 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
- Tip:
- Mix an egg white with a little water and brush the rolls before they come in the oven. That makes a really nice shiny bun.
