Burger Buns

This recipe makes the finest burger buns, and not just for them. The dough is wonderful, not hammered, easily rises, bakes. The buns have a golden crust and a delicious white crumb with a finely porous structure. Once you’ve cooked these buns at least once, you will no longer buy them in the store.

Cook: 2 hours 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • Milk – 1 glass
  • Water – 1 glass
  • Butter – 2 tbsp
  • Flour – 5.5 cups
  • Dry yeast – 11 g
  • Sugar – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – 1.5 teaspoon.
  • Yolk – 1 pc.
  • Sesame seeds – 1 tbsp

Directions

  1. Prepare food. Leave the oil at room temperature to soften. Heat the milk slightly.
  2. Pour milk and water into a large bowl. The liquid should have a temperature of about 38 degrees, i.e. be a little warm. Pour sugar and salt into the milk/water mixture. Stir with a whisk.
  3. Pour dry yeast into the liquid base, add the soft butter.
  4. Stir the mixture again with a whisk and leave for 10 minutes, until a frothy head appears.
  5. Then, adding flour, knead the dough. If you are using a kitchen machine, use the hook attachment. Use your hands to knead the dough for a long time, 10 minutes, the machine will handle it in 5 minutes. When all the flour has been mixed in, cover the bowl of dough with a clean kitchen towel, and leave to rise for 1 hour.
  6. Knead the dough on the table without additional flour and divide it into 10-12 pieces.
  7. Form a ball out of each piece of dough, press it down with your palm to make a disc with a thickness of one and a half centimeters. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with baking parchment.
  8. Leave the buns to rise for 10 minutes, then brush them with egg yolk mixed with 1 tbsp water, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  9. Bake homemade burger buns in an oven preheated to 180-200 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
  10. Homemade burger buns are ready. Such buns can be served with the first and second courses instead of bread, they can be used for making sandwiches, and just with milk, they will go with a bang.
