Lavash Baskets with Couscous and Mushrooms

In addition to classic rolls, lavash can be used to make beautiful baskets. Such pita baskets will decorate any festive table or buffet table. You can experiment with the filling to your taste. We offer a delicious combination of couscous with fried mushrooms and tomatoes. Tasty, healthy and very elegant.

Ingredients

  • Thin lavash – 1 sheet
  • Champignons – 100 g
  • Fresh tomatoes – 70 g
  • Couscous (dry) – 50 g
  • Fresh dill – 2 branches
  • Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp
  • Boiling water – 100 ml
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste

Directions

  1. Prepare all required ingredients. Wash greens and tomatoes. Wipe the mushrooms with a napkin or peel.
  2. Cut a sheet of pita bread with sharp scissors into rectangles about 7×10 cm in size.
  3. Fold two pita bread rectangles one on top of the other, turn the upper one 90 degrees and put them in the cupcake tray so that you get a basket. Also form baskets-tartlets from the rest of the pita bread.
  4. Cut the mushrooms into medium pieces.
  5. Cut the tomato into small cubes, chop the dill.
  6. Pour boiling water over the couscous and leave for 7 minutes. Drain off excess liquid if not absorbed.
  7. Put mushrooms in a preheated frying pan with vegetable oil and fry until light golden brown. At this stage, you can turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees.
  8. In a large bowl, combine couscous with mushrooms, tomatoes and dill. Salt and pepper to taste. You can add any spices to your taste. Stir until smooth.
  9. We fill pita bread baskets with filling. We bake the filled baskets in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 10 minutes.
  10. We take out the baskets from the molds, let them cool, decorate with herbs as desired. You can also drizzle with olive oil or balsamic sauce.
  11. Lavash baskets with couscous and mushrooms are ready.
