Mini Puffs with Sausage

An original and simple appetizer – mini puffs with sausage. Such a nice appetizer from ready-made puff and yeast dough will not take much time to prepare and will be an excellent decoration for a festive table. If desired, these “mini-pizzas” can be supplemented with thyme and lemon zest. It is worth making a lot of these “buttons” at once, because such a snack just flies off the table!

Ingredients

  • Yeast puff pastry – 250 g
  • Krakow sausage – 200 g
  • Flour (for burning) – 1 tbsp

  • For filing (optional):
  • Lemon (zest) – 1/2 pc.
  • Thyme (fresh or dried) – 1 sprig

Directions

  1. Prepare foods from the list. You can use almost any sausage or even replace it with sausages. I have Krakow sausage. It is best to remove the puff pastry from the freezer in advance. Such mini-pizzas cook quickly enough, so it is best to turn on the oven in advance to heat up to 180 degrees.
  2. Free the sausage from the factory casing and cut into slices about 0.5-1 cm thick.
  3. Lightly dust the table or cutting board with flour. Roll out the puff pastry into a layer about 0.5 cm thick.
  4. With a glass or glass with thin walls, cut out circles with a diameter of 4-5 cm from the dough.
  5. With the bottom of the glass about the same dia as the sausage slices, push through each piece. Place a round of sausage in each slot.
  6. Cover the baking sheet with parchment. Transfer the pieces to a baking sheet and place them in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for about 10 minutes.
  7. Then take out a baking sheet with pizzas and with the flat side of a knife press down the sausage slices, pressing them into the dough.
  8. Send the baking sheet back to the oven and bake the mini pizzas for another 15 minutes. Remove the finished snack from the oven.
  9. Remove the thyme leaves from the stem. Remove the zest from the lemon with a fine grater. Sprinkle the puffs with thyme leaves and lemon zest.
  10. Cute mini sausage puffs are ready. This snack is “one bite”, so it is ideal for a buffet table.
  11. The aroma of lemon and thyme, slightly crunchy puff pastry and the taste of smoked sausage – how delicious it is!
