Instructions

  1. Bring the salt water to the boil. Wash and peel the potatoes, cut into even pieces and cook on a low heat for 20-25 minutes. Drain the water. Place the pot with the potatoes on the warm plate again and let the potatoes steam out. Put the milk and butter in the pan and mash the potatoes. Now stir vigorously on a low speed until the mashed potatoes (mashed potatoes) are airy and hot. Season to taste with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  2. Fry the bacon cubes until translucent and add them. Stir in the grated cheese. Put everything in a greased casserole dish and bake in the preheated oven (lower half of the oven) at 200 ° C for 20-30 minutes. Halfway through the baking time, use a spoon to make indentations in the puree and carefully slide one raw egg into each. It is best to first beat the eggs one by one in a bowl. Season lightly with salt and pepper and finish baking.
  3. Tip: Of course, it tastes best with freshly grated cheese, but the prepackaged products work too. Ham cubes can also be used instead of bacon cubes.
