Ingredients
For the dough:
- 250 g butter, soft
- 150 grams sugar
- 4 egg (s)
- 400 g flour
- 1 packet baking powder
- 150 g cream
- 1 lime (s), the juice it
- 150 g poppy seeds, round (approx., Possibly only 100)
- 2 tablespoon orange liqueur

- 1 lime (s), the juice it
- 150 g powdered suar

- Preheat the oven to 175 ° C. Grease a bundt pan.
- For the batter, whisk the butter and sugar in a bowl until the sugar has dissolved. Gradually stir in the eggs.
- Mix the flour with the baking powder, sieve onto the butter mixture and fold in with the cream. Halve the dough.
- Squeeze the lime.
- Stir the lime juice into one half of the dough, mix the other half with the poppy seeds and liqueur.
- Pour the poppy dough into the mold, spread the lime dough on top and smooth it out. Using a fork, pull it through the dough in a spiral shape, creating a marbling.
- Bake the Gugelhupf in the preheated oven on the lowest rack for 50 minutes.
- Remove the cake and let it rest for 5 minutes, then remove it from the mold, carefully turn it over and let it cool.
- For the glaze, squeeze the lime and stir the juice in a small bowl with the powdered sugar until smooth. Cover the cake with it.
- Tip:
- if there is no orange liqueur available or if children are eating, orange juice can also be used instead.
- Depending on your taste, the lime juice in the batter and glaze can also be replaced with orange juice.
