Red Cabbage in Georgian Style

Homemade pickles are a great snack for the whole family. I would like to suggest that you adopt a cool version of a spicy, spicy, rich cabbage. Be sure to try, the recipe is awesome!

Ingredients

  • Cabbage – 2.5 Kilograms
  • Beets – 0.5 Kilogram
  • Hot Pepper – To taste
  • Celery stalk – 2-3 pieces
  • Garlic – 10-20 Cloves (to taste)
  • Greens – 1 Bunch
  • Water – 2 Liters
  • Vinegar – 0.5 Liter
  • Sugar – 150 Grams
  • Salt – 3 tbsp
  • Pepper, cloves, bay leaves – To taste

Directions

  1. Wash the cabbage, dry it and cut it into such large pieces.
  2. Peel the beets. You can grate it on a coarse grater, but it is better to cut it into such circles.
  3. Then you will get not only delicious cabbage, but also pickled beets.
  4. Peel the garlic, chop the hot pepper. The cabbage should be spicy, but you can vary the amount of pepper to taste.
  5. Chop the celery stalk. Prepare a large saucepan or other convenient container. Place some of the garlic, pepper, celery and beets on the bottom. Add some fresh herbs.
  6. Next – a layer of cabbage.
  7. Again beets, garlic, herbs.
  8. Another layer of cabbage.
  9. And so on until you run out of ingredients.
  10. In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt and put on fire. Bring to a boil, add vinegar, bay leaves, peppercorns. After a minute, remove the marinade from heat.
  11. Pour the marinade into the cabbage. Cover with a plate and place the press. Leave to marinate for 2-3 days. When the cabbage is marinated well, put it in the refrigerator.
