- 150 grams sugar
- 4 egg (s)
- 150 grams flour
- 200 g butter
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 bags poppy seeds - Back (Mohnfix)
- 1 glass sour cherries

- Drain the cherries.
- Place the bags of poppy seeds in a bowl of warm water.
- Mix the first 5 ingredients into a dough. Then add the two bags of poppy seeds to the batter.
- Now put half of the dough in a greased springform pan or buffer pan and cover with half of the sour cherries.
- Then pour in the rest of the batter and top with the remaining cherries.
- Bake the poppy seed cake in the oven at 160 ° C for about 45-50 minutes.
- The cake is very juicy and will keep for a few days, unless you eat it the same day.
