Shortbread Cookies with Orange Jam

Orange jam shortbread cookies are a great treat for a festive tea party. Jam Maheev “Orange” contains orange zest, which makes simple shortbread cookies very aromatic and tasty.
Servings: 4
Cook: 40 minutes
Ingredients
- Butter – 75 g
- Egg white – 1 pc.
- Flour – 200 g
- Starch – 2 tbsp
- Sugar – 70 g
- Jam Maheev “Orange” – 4 tbsp
Directions
- Beat the egg white and sugar until soft.
- Melt the butter and cool. Pour butter into beaten egg white. Mix.
- Gradually add sifted flour mixed with starch.
- Knead quickly to a soft shortcrust pastry.
- Roll the dough into a ball.
- Divide the dough into two equal portions.
- Roll two identical bundles from each part.
- Cover the baking sheet with baking paper. Do not lubricate with anything. Lay the harnesses on the paper.
- Press the dough harnesses slightly from above with your hands to form strips. Make a notch in the middle along the entire length.
- Place the baking sheet in a preheated oven and bake shortbread cookies at 180 degrees for 15 minutes.
- Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and fill the cavities in the cookies with the “Orange” Maheev jam. Put the cookies with jam in the oven again, at the same temperature, for 5-7 minutes to brown the cookies.
- Cool the finished shortbread cookies with orange jam, cut the strips into small pieces, put the cookies on a plate and serve with tea.
