Ingredients

  • 2 banana (s)
  • 2 teaspoons cane sugar or brown sugar
  • 4 teaspoons honey
  • 4 teaspoons walnuts
  • 1 shot cognac or brandy
  • 4 teaspoons butter
  • Ice cream (vanilla), to taste

Instructions

  1. Caramelize the cane sugar, reduce the heat and add the honey. When melting the honey, add the butter to the pan at the same time. Stir well, there will be a light foam. Add the chopped walnuts and roast briefly. Quarter the bananas and roll the quarters in the resulting syrup for about 1 minute, they take on a beautiful golden yellow color.
  2. Take the bananas out of the pan, briefly increase the heat and deglaze the mixture with brandy or even better, cognac. Let it thicken slightly.
  3. In the meantime, portion the vanilla ice cream, add the bananas and pour the thickened syrup over them.
  4. The recipe comes from an American friend in Florida who uses significantly more butter and honey. Then tastes even better!
  5. P.S If you don`t have walnuts on hand, chopped peanuts will do the same.
