Caramel Pie

A very simple, mouth-watering caramel pie at home is a good quick baking option that doesn’t require any special preparations or ingredients.

Servings: 4-6

Ingredients

  • Sugar – 1 Glass (+ 1 tablespoon per dough)
  • Salt – 1 Pinch
  • Butter – 150 Grams
  • Cold water – 1-2 Art. spoons
  • Flour – 1 Glass
  • Water – 50 Milliliters
  • Cream – 300 Milliliters
  • Egg – 4 Pieces
  • Cinnamon – 1 Pinch
  • Ginger – 1 Pinch
  • Vanillin – 1 Pinch

Directions

  1. To prepare the dough, put chilled butter, cut into small pieces, on the flour sifted with salt. Add sugar and use a knife to actively grind everything into a homogeneous crumb. Pour in 1 teaspoon of ice water and start kneading the dough. Add water gradually, bringing it to the required consistency.
  2. Send the dough to the refrigerator for 15 minutes and then roll it out thinly on a floured surface. Alternatively, you can use puff pastry in the recipe for making a cake with caramel.
  3. Put in a mold, cutting off the excess with a sharp knife.
  4. Put a sheet of parchment or foil on top and a load – cereal or something heavy. This will keep the dough in shape. Send to a preheated oven.
  5. Combine sugar with water and put on fire. Cook the caramel over medium heat.
  6. Bring it to brown and thickened.
  7. Pour the cream in a thin stream, stirring constantly.
  8. Beat eggs in a small bowl. Add a pinch of ginger, cinnamon and vanillin to the caramel. Pour in eggs and immediately remove from heat. Whisk vigorously until the caramel is smooth.
  9. Take the cake out of the oven, remove the foil and immediately pour in the filling. Send back to the oven and bake for about 20 minutes. When the homemade caramel pie is ready, you need to cool it down properly before slicing and serving.
