Closed Pie with Meat and Corn

Delicious Indoor Meat and Corn Pie is a variation on traditional South American pies.

Ingredients

For the dough:

  • Butter – 200 g
  • Flour – 400 g
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Sugar – 1 tablespoon
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Milk – 100 ml

For filling:

  • Meat – 300 g
  • Canned corn – 100 g
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – 1 chips.

For lubrication:

  • Dried Herb Blend – To Taste
  • Yolk – 1 pc.

Directions

  1. Knead the meat pie dough. Pour the sifted flour into a bowl or on a board.
  2. Make a depression in the center, into which pour salt, sugar, release the egg and add soft butter.
  3. Mix everything and knead the dough thoroughly by adding warm milk.
  4. Leave the dough to rest for half an hour and prepare the filling:
  5. Peel the onion, cut into cubes, and fry in hot vegetable oil until golden brown.
  6. Pass the meat through a meat grinder.
  7. Add the meat to the pan to the onion and fry together, stirring for 10 minutes.
  8. Mix the minced meat with onions and corn. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cool down.
  9. Cover the baking sheet with parchment, lightly oil it.
  10. Roll out the dough half a centimeter thick. Transfer the rolled dough to a baking sheet with paper. Place the filling in the center and close the pie with the free edges of the crust, pinching slightly.
  11. Brush the pie with whipped yolk. Sprinkle with a mixture of dried herbs.
  12. Bake a pie with meat in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
  13. Serve hot. Serve meat pie with sour cream, mayonnaise, ketchup, or your favorite sauce.
