Garlic Bread Cakes

To prepare such garlic cakes, you need to prepare yeast dough and garlic puree from baked garlic. Breadcakes are very simple to prepare.

Ingredients

  • Garlic (cut off 0.5 cm from the top) – 1 whole head
  • Extra virgin olive oil – 1 teaspoon. + 2 tbsp
  • Bread flour – 3 1/2 cups
  • Fast-acting yeast – 2 teaspoon
  • Salt – 2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil – 5 tbsp
  • Warm water – 1 1/3 cups

Directions

  1. First, you need to cook the baked garlic. Turn on the oven to preheat to 190 degrees. Put the head of garlic in a small square shape made of foil. Sprinkle garlic with 1 teaspoon of oil and wrap in foil. Put this structure in a preheated oven for 45 minutes. Then remove the garlic from the oven, allow to cool, and squeeze the garlic pulp into a small bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of oil to a bowl of garlic and mash the garlic with a fork, mixing with the oil.
  2. Prepare the tortillas themselves. Place a large baking sheet in the oven on the middle level, and turn on the oven itself to preheat to 200 degrees. Pour flour, yeast, and salt into the bowl of a food processor or a regular bowl. Dissolve 5 tablespoons of oil in warm water and add this mixture to the flour with yeast, knead a homogeneous dough.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface, knead for a couple of minutes, and then transfer to an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and put in a warm place to rise for an hour. After this time, knead the dough and divide it into two parts, roll up the balls, knead into ovals measuring 25×15 cm. Put the garlic filling on the dough and distribute it over the entire surface. Cover with a towel and leave garlic cakes for 20 minutes. Then transfer the cakes to a baking sheet and bake the bread cakes in the oven until golden brown, about 20 minutes. Cool the finished bread cakes at room temperature.
