Italian Sandwiches

For these sandwiches, the classic ingredients of Italian cuisine are used: aromatic bread, basil, cheese, tomatoes, and a signature Italian dressing. Prepare Italian sandwiches under a closed grill lid.

Ingredients

  • Fresh basil leaves – 8 pcs.
  • Fresh tomato slices – 8 pcs.
  • Provolonsky cheese – 4 slices
  • Italian bread slices – 4 pcs.

    For Italian dressing:

  • White wine vinegar – 1/4 cup
  • Fresh parsley leaves (chopped) – 2 tbsp
  • Fresh oregano (chopped) – 1 tbsp
  • Olive oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt – 1/4 teaspoon.
  • Ground black pepper – 1/8 teaspoon.
  • Garlic (chopped) – 2 cloves

Directions

  1. Prepare the dressing. To do this, combine all the ingredients for dressing in a large deep bowl and whisk lightly. Cover the bowl and refrigerate.
  2. Turn on the grill to preheat to medium heat. Layer basil leaves, tomato slices, and cheese slices on two slices of bread. Cover with the remaining 2 slices of bread.
  3. Thus, grease the resulting sandwiches from the outside with Italian dressing and put them on the grid of a preheated grill. Place the lid on the grill and cook the sandwiches for about 3-4 minutes on each side.
