Meat and Vegetable Snack

Grilled meat served with vegetables in a tortilla or pita bread.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Beef steak – 350 g
  • Orange juice – 3 tbsp
  • Water – 3 tbsp
  • Fresh lemon juice – 2 tbsp
  • Fresh ginger (chopped on a grater) – 1 teaspoon.
  • Dried oregano (crumbled) – ½ teaspoon.
  • Salt – 1/8 teaspoon.
  • Ground cayenne pepper – 1/8 teaspoon
  • Garlic (minced) – 1 clove
  • Whole wheat tortilla or small thin pita bread – 4 pcs.
  • Medium-sized onions (cut into rings) – 1 pc.
  • Bell peppers yellow and/or red (cut into strips) – ¾ cup
  • Plum sauce or horseradish – ¼ cup
  • Any leafy cabbage (shredded) – 1 glass
  • Vegetable oil for grilling grill

Directions

  1. On the steak on both sides, make transverse shallow cuts with a knife at a distance of 2.5 centimeters from each other. Place the steak in a large plastic bag with fasteners, after lowering the bag from the bowl. In a small bowl, combine orange juice, water, lemon juice, ginger, oregano, salt, cayenne pepper, and garlic. Pour this marinade over the steak in a bag, button it up, and shake well. Put the bag of meat in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or better for 4 hours, occasionally turning it over.
  2. Switch on the grill to preheat to medium temperature, grease the wire rack with vegetable oil. Take the steak out of the bag with the marinade (reserve the marinade) and put it on the grill grate, fry it under a closed lid for about 17-20 minutes, turning it over once (the temperature on the meat thermo should reach 80 degrees). Transfer the grilled steak to a cutting board, cover with foil and rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, wrap the whole grain flour cakes in foil and place on the grill rack for 8-10 minutes. Cut the meat on the plank across the board into thin strips.
  4. Pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and place over medium heat. Put onion rings and bell peppers in a saucepan, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer vegetables under a closed lid for 5-7 minutes, until soft.
  5. Put the tortillas on the table, grease each cake with plum sauce or horseradish, top with shredded cabbage, pieces of meat, and stewed vegetables. Roll the appetizer into rolls and serve immediately.
