Ingredients
- 8 cheese, hand cheese or also called Harzer and Mainzer
- 2 onion (s), red, finely diced
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 250 ml balsamic vinegar
- 200 ml extra virgin olive oil
- 50 ml water
- 1 bunch thyme, peeled and chopped
- 1 bunch basil, finely chopped
- salt
- Black pepper from the mill

- Cut the cheese into cubes approx. 2 x 2 cm and place in a bowl. Make a marinade out of all the other ingredients and pour on the cheese. Mix all ingredients together well and cover and let sit in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours until the cheese gets a white surface.
- Stir every now and then.
- Fresh bread and butter or rosemary potatoes go well with this
