Mint Cheese Balls with Nuts

An incredibly aromatic and tasty appetizer for a festive table is cheese balls with nuts and mint.

Ingredients

  • Cottage cheese – 150 g
  • Soft cheese (feta) – 100 g
  • Hard cheese – 100 g
  • Nuts (walnuts) – 100 g
  • Fresh mint – 1 bunch
  • Salt – 1-2 pinches
  • Lettuce – for serving

Directions

  1. Prepare the required ingredients for the nut and mint cheese balls. Three types of cheese are used: cottage cheese, soft feta cheese and hard cheese. If you don’t have feta, then use mozzarella. You can use any nuts – peanuts, walnuts, cashews, etc.
  2. Put cottage cheese (any fat content) in a deep container, add feta and grate hard cheese on a fine grater. Mash everything well with a fork, adding a little salt.
  3. Tear off the mint leaves from the stems, rinse and chop.
  4. Add the mint to the cheese mass and mix well.
  5. Dry the walnuts in the oven or in a dry frying pan and grind them almost into dust.
  6. Roll up balls of any size from the curd mass and roll them in nut crumbs. Do this with all the curd mass, turning it into a festive snack.
  7. Cheese balls with nuts and mint are ready. Spread the cheese appetizer on the lettuce leaves and serve or refrigerate until guests arrive.
