Puff Pastry Rolls with Mushrooms, Olives and Tomatoes

A simple puff pastry snack – delicious rolls stuffed with mushrooms, tomatoes, olives and cheese. An uncomplicated and original “weekend breakfast” or a picnic dish, because these rolls are equally good both warm and cold.

Ingredients

  • Puff pastry – 500 g
  • Tomatoes – 150 g
  • Champignons – 150 g
  • Pitted olives – 50 g
  • Hard cheese – 30 g
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Dried basil – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Dried oregano – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Egg (for greasing) – 1 pc.
  • Sesame seeds (for decoration) – 1 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) – 1 tbsp

Directions

  1. Prepare all required ingredients. The dough must be removed in advance and thawed at room temperature.
    Heat a skillet with a little vegetable oil over medium heat.
  2. Wash the mushrooms, cut into plates.
  3. Peel the garlic and chop finely with a knife.
  4. Send mushrooms and garlic to a frying pan with heated vegetable oil. Fry over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the liquid evaporates, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Then remove from heat and leave to cool.
  6. Cut the tomatoes into cubes.
  7. Combine cooled mushrooms in a bowl and add tomato.
  8. Cut the pitted olives into slices.
  9. Send the chopped olives to the bowl with the mushrooms and tomatoes.
  10. Season with salt, add spices and stir.
    Turn on the oven to heat up to 200 degrees.
  11. Grate cheese on a coarse grater.
  12. Roll out the puff pastry into a layer measuring 20 by 30 cm.
  13. Spread the filling evenly over the dough, slightly stepping back from the edges.
  14. Sprinkle with grated cheese.
  15. Gently roll the dough into a loose roll.
  16. Cut the roll into 6 pieces.
  17. Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment.
  18. Grease rolls with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake the rolls at 200 degrees for about 30 minutes, until golden brown.
  19. You can serve ready-made puff pastry rolls with filling both warm and cold. It will be tasty anyway.
