- 1 glass morello cherries
- 100 g marzipan (raw mixture)
- 50 g cream
- 250 g butter
- 250 grams sugar
- 6 egg (s)
- 450 g flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder (1/ pck.)
- 150 ml milk

- I almost always bake this cake for special occasions and it always goes down very well - even with those who don`t like cherries (me included) or are put off by marzipan! You can`t taste the marzipan, but it gives the cake a very special taste.
- Drain the sour cherries early.
- Grate the marzipan in a bowl, then add the cream and mix or use a hand blender to grind and mix. Then add the butter and sugar. Mix or stir again until everything is well mixed and no large flakes can be seen.
- Tip: You can also melt the butter beforehand, but it doesn`t have to be made.
- Now add the 6 eggs and mix everything well again! Mix baking powder into the flour. Gradually add to the dough and stir until you have 3/4 of the flour in the dough. You will notice that the dough is now more difficult to stir, then you add the milk. Mix this with the dough and finally add the rest of the flour (you can also sieve the flour in, but it is not necessary).
- When the dough has achieved a smooth, even appearance, simply turn it out onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper (the baking paper must fill the entire sheet, preferably leave it a little over the edges). Spread the batter on the baking tray and finally spread the cherries on top (1 glass if you don`t like too many cherries and 2 if you can`t get enough cherries).
- Bake in the preheated oven at 175 ° C for about 45 minutes until it is yellow-gold-brown.
- As soon as the cake has cooled down, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Tip: Of course, you can also do this with other fruits. I`ve tried raspberries before too.
