Snack Bar “Napoleon” with Cheese, Ham and Pineapple

My family is very fond of snack cakes. I cook them often, with different fillings, but always from puff yeast-free dough. Today we will prepare a Napoleon snack with cheese, ham and pineapple.

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • Yeast-free puff pastry – 300 g
  • Blue cheese – 150 g
  • Ham – 100 g
  • Canned pineapple – 75 g
  • Walnuts – 40 g
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Cream – 50 ml
  • Egg – 1 pc.

Directions

  1. Let’s prepare the ingredients for the Napoleon puff pastry cake with cheese, ham and pineapple. If you are not a big fan of blue cheese, you can substitute cream cheese or brie cheese instead. Ready-made store-bought puff pastry should be removed from the freezer in advance so that it thaws.
  2. Spread a layer of puff pastry on a baking sheet and cut into rectangles. I will make a snack cake in 4 layers, I will use 2 layers to sprinkle the cake, so I have 6 rectangles. The shape of the cakes is not important, you can make both a round cake and a square one, according to your desire.
  3. Lubricate all the cakes with a beaten egg, use a fork to make frequent punctures on the surface of the dough so that the cakes retain their even surface during the baking process. We send the baking sheet with the cakes to the oven, preheated to 190 degrees, for 15-20 minutes.
  4. We take out the finished cakes from the oven and let them cool completely.
  5. In the meantime, let’s prepare the filling for the Napoleon snack cake. Cut cheese with mold with your hands into small crumbs. Let’s add the cream.
  6. Add garlic, passed through a press, to the cheese. Mix everything well until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
  7. Cut the ham into very small cubes.
  8. Finely chop the walnuts with a knife or crush them in a mortar.
  9. Drain the liquid from the pineapple jar and cut the pineapple into small cubes.
  10. Add ham, nuts and pineapple to the cheese with garlic.
  11. Mix everything again. The filling for the puff snack cake is ready!
  12. Set aside the cakes that will be used to sprinkle the cake. Distribute on the first cake evenly 2 tbsp fillings.
  13. Cover the filling with the next crust and thus collect the Napoleon snack with cheese, ham and pineapple.
  14. Grind the remaining cakes into crumbs.
  15. Sprinkle the top and sides of the puff cake with the resulting crumb. We send the snack cake for 30-40 minutes (it is possible for a couple of hours) in the refrigerator.
  16. The Napoleon snack cake with cheese, ham and pineapple is ready!
  17. Cut the cake in portions and serve
