Steak with Orange Sauce

Beef steak is grilled and served with a sauce made from orange peel, parsley, and garlic.

Ingredients

  • Beef steak – 450 g
  • Medium-sized red onion (cut into 8 slices) – 1 pc.
  • Salt – 0.5 teaspoon.
  • Ground black pepper – 0.25 teaspoon.
  • Vegetable oil
  • Balsamic vinegar – 0.5 cups
  • Shallots (finely chopped) – 0.25 cups
    For the orange sauce:
  • Fresh parsley (chopped) – 0.25 cups
  • Orange peel – 1 tbsp
  • Garlic (chopped) – 2 cloves

Directions

  1. Combine all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside.
  2. Turn on the grill until it reaches a medium-high temperature.
  3. Sprinkle salt and pepper on all sides of the steak. Oil the grill grate. Place steak and red onion wedges on a wire rack. Fry for about 5 minutes on each side.
  4. Transfer the steak to a board, let it rest for a couple of minutes, and then cut into slices.
  5. In a small saucepan, combine the vinegar and shallots. Bring to a boil, cook the sauce for about 7 minutes (about 0.25 cups should remain). Pour this sauce over the steak slices.
  6. Serve steaks and onions with orange sauce. A garnish of your choice.
