Waffles with Bacon

Waffles with bacon are easy to prepare and incredibly delicious breakfast. Soft waffles paired with toasted bacon and melted cheese are something you just can’t resist!

Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • Cornmeal – 3/4 Cup
  • Eggs – 2 Pieces
  • Butter – 3 Tbsp. spoons (melted)
  • Flour – 1 Glass
  • Sugar – 1/2 Art. spoons
  • Baking powder – 2 Teaspoons
  • Salt – 1 Teaspoon
  • Baking soda – 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Bacon – 5 Slices
  • Grated cheese – 1/2 Cup

Directions

  1. Pour cornmeal with a glass of boiling water, mix.
  2. Mix the flour with baking soda and baking powder, mix with a whisk.
  3. When the cornmeal has absorbed all the water and cooled to room temperature (it will take about 10 minutes, at least), transfer it to a large bowl. We break two eggs there.
  4. Add butter, melted and cooled to room temperature, beat well.
  5. Add dry flour mixture to a bowl and beat until dry ingredients are mixed with liquid ingredients.
  6. Add milk at room temperature and beat a little more.
  7. Now comes the fun part. Add lightly fried bacon pieces to the dough.
  8. Add coarsely grated cheese there.
  9. Mix well – and the dough is ready.
  10. We heat up the waffle iron. Pour our dough onto a hot waffle iron.
  11. Cover the waffle iron with a lid and cook the waffles until tender (3-5 minutes).
  12. Serve the finished waffles with bacon with a slice of butter. Serve warm.
