Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 125 g spelled flour, liht
  • 100 g wholemeal spelled flour
  • 50 g whole cane suar
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ½ salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon ¼ vanilla
  • 80 g butter
  • 125 g yourt
  • 50 g chocolate, dark
  • 30 g raisins

For painting:

  • butter, liquid

For dusting:

  • powdered sugar

Moreover:

  • Flour for the work surface

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees top / bottom heat. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Mix the flours, sugar, baking powder, salt and vanilla in a bowl. Add the butter in pieces and rub it with the flour. Add the yoghurt and quickly combine to form a dough. Chop the dark chocolate and fold in with the raisins. Press the dough flat on a floured work surface into a round loaf of about 22 cm or roll it out. Place on the baking sheet and cut into eight pieces. Pull the pieces apart slightly so that they don`t bake together.
  2. Brush the scones with melted butter and bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack for approx. 18-20 minutes. Remove and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
  3. Note: Since we love classic scones, this time I prepared the scones as a delicious giant cookie with chocolate chips. My two little kitchen helpers prove that making scones is child`s play. With spelled flour and a little sugar, the delicious pastries are also almost healthy.
