Ingredients

  • 1 gr. Can (s) beans (fine young green beans, 455 g drained weight)
  • 3 medium onion (s)
  • 20 g bacon, fatter
  • 2 teaspoons, leveled salt
  • 1 pinch (s) garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon, heaped thyme, rubbed

Instructions

  1. Leave the bacon in the pan and fry it very lightly. Take the bacon out of the pan and set aside. Pour away excess fat. Put the onions in the pan and fry them lightly brown in the fat. Remove the onions from the pan and add them to the bacon that was set aside.
  2. Drain the liquid from the beans and add the beans with a little oil to the pan. Cook the beans over high heat for about 5 minutes, turning them frequently. Then switch to medium heat and fry the beans for another 10-15 minutes, turning them occasionally (not too often, otherwise they will not turn brown, just dry).
  3. When the beans are evenly seared, add the onions and bacon. Over medium heat, stir frequently, add plenty of salt and (very important!) Add the thyme.
  4. A really tasty side dish for many dishes. I wouldn`t have believed before that you can conjure up something delicious out of green beans so easily.
