Lavash Triangles with Ham, Tomatoes and Cheese

Lavash triangles fried in an egg are a hearty breakfast or a snack from readily available products. Inside such mouth-watering lazy “pies” of lavash, there is a delicious filling – ham, melted cheese, and juicy tomatoes. Tempting, isn’t it? Just don’t get carried away, take care of your figure! 🙂

Ingredients

  • Thin lavash – 200 g (3 sheets measuring 40×90 cm)
  • Ham – 150 g
  • Tomatoes – 250 g (3 pcs.)
  • Hard cheese – 150 g
  • Eggs – 3 pcs.
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) – 3-4 tbsp (50 ml)

Directions

  1. Cut the cheese into triangular slices about 2-3 mm thick.
  2. Cut the ham, depending on the dia, into circles or triangular plates approximately 5 mm thick.
  3. Cut the tomatoes into slices about 5 mm thick.
  4. Cut sheets of pita bread into strips 10-12 cm wide.
  5. Place one slice of cheese, ham, and tomato on the edge of the strip. You can spread it in a different order.
  6. Holding the filling, connect the corner of the pita bread with the opposite side of the strip. In this case, a triangle is formed, under which the filling is hidden.
  7. We bend the corner to close the filling on one more side.
  8. So we continue, bending the corners in different directions so that in the end we get a triangle of pita bread with a filling, which is closed on all sides. We form in this way 8 triangles from pita bread.
  9. Shake the eggs with salt and black pepper. Dip the stuffed pita bread in the beaten egg.
  10. Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil (30 ml – 2 tablespoons) and put the pita bread triangles in the egg there. Fry over medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side. The lavash should brown, and the cheese inside should melt.
  11. Place the sautéed pita bread triangles with ham, cheese, and tomatoes on a plate lined with paper napkins to remove excess oil. Then fry the rest of the triangles, in the same way, adding oil as needed.
  12. It is best to serve pita bread with filling hot. But even after cooling, such triangles are very tasty. They can be wrapped in foil and taken with you on a picnic or as a snack to work or school.
