- 0.25 liter ¼ juice (mahonia juice), boiled from approx. 400 g mahonia
- 500 ml apple juice, unsweetened (preferably not from concentrate)
- 1 packet preserving sugar (3: )
- 1 packet citric acid

- Mix the cooled mahonia juice and apple juice in a large saucepan, add the preserving sugar and citric acid. Mix everything together well, heat at the highest temperature while stirring constantly and cook vigorously for 1 minute.
- Make a gel test. Fill jars while still hot, close immediately. Let stand upside down for 5 minutes. Gels reliably and is very colorful (wear an apron!).
