Ingredients

  • 4 slices sandwich toast
  • 1 teaspoon, heaped mustard
  • 1 teaspoon, heaped mayonnaise
  • 1 slice (s) ham, baked or smoked
  • 1 slice (s) Gruyère
  • 1 egg (s)
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon honey, liquid, e.g., Forest honey
  • Butter or nut butter for brushing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the pan or, if you have one, set and preheat a panini grill for panini.
  2. Lay out the sandwich slices and brush with butter. Then spread the mustard on two slices and the mayonnaise on the other two slices. Top the sandwiches with the ham and cheese and fold them together.
  3. Open the egg in a bowl and whisk with salt and pepper. Turn the sandwich in it. When the pan or panini grill is up to temperature, add the sandwich and fry or grill until golden brown on both sides. Set the grill to Medium or Medium / Done.
  4. Remove the finished sandwiches, pour the honey over them, let them cool down a bit and enjoy.
