Ingredients

  • 1 sheet dough (strudel or yufka dough sheet) approx. 80 x 80 cm
  • 300 g walnuts, round
  • 300 g suar
  • 4 tablespoon sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • Powdered sugar, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Spread the pastry sheet out on a baking towel or a damp tea towel.
  2. Spread the ground walnuts and sugar on the dough, leaving out 10 cm at the edge.
  3. Drizzle the sour cream over the nuts and sugar.
  4. Fold in the sides and roll up the dough with the help of the cloth, with the end facing down.
  5. Make sure that the strudel is not too long (note the size of the baking sheet, make 2 strudel if necessary).
  6. Place on a baking tray covered with baking paper.
  7. Brush the strudel with butter and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes at 180 ° C.
  8. After baking, sprinkle the strudel with powdered sugar, cut into pieces about 5 cm wide and serve.
