Ingredients

  • 1 packet puff pastry from the refrigerated shelf
  • 1 kg apples, sour
  • 100 g hazelnuts, round
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 5 tablespoon sugar
  • 0.5 ½ teaspoon, leveled cinnamon powder
  • 1 tablespoon, leveled oatmeal, tender
  • Icing sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Peel the apples, remove the core and cut into small pieces. Mix with lemon juice so that they don`t tarnish. Add the hazelnuts, cinnamon and sugar. If you like, you can also add vanilla sugar.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry, distribute the oat flakes in the middle between the two longer sides (they soak up the liquid), leaving all edges free. Put the apple and hazelnut filling in the middle so that you can fold the dough together. Close at the ends and press down a little on the edges so that they stick together. Make a cross cut so that the air can escape during baking.
  3. Bake at 180 ° C (top / bottom heat, convection: approx. 160 ° C) for approx. 35 - 40 minutes. It`s done when it`s golden brown on top. Tastes great with cream, vanilla sauce or vanilla ice cream.
  4. The taste of the apple strudel depends on the apples used. It tastes super delicious with the old, sour varieties.
