Pampushki with Steamed Dill, with Chicken and Potatoes

An unusual way of cooking: to make a gorgeous dinner or lunch from simple products, just press down on the dough with a pencil! As always, everything will be simple and delicious! Today we prepared steamed buns-donuts, with chicken and potatoes, and decided to repeat the recipe this weekend – great!

Ingredients

For the test:

  • Flour – 400 g
  • Dry yeast – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar – 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp + for greasing the dough
  • Dill greens – 1 bunch
  • Water – 1 glass (200 ml) *
  • Chicken (individual parts) – 1 kg
  • Potatoes – 1 kg
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Sweet pepper – 1 pc.
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper – to taste
  • Vegetable oil – for frying
  • Water (or broth)

Directions

  1. First, let’s make a yeast dough. Everything is as usual, but with dill herbs. We heat the water to a slightly warm state (37 degrees).
  2. We activate the yeast (make a quick brew). To do this, make a depression in the flour, pour in warm water, add sugar and yeast. We mix water with yeast and sugar and let stand for 10 minutes to activate the yeast.
  3. Finely chop the dill. Add salt, dill, and vegetable oil to a bowl of dough.
  4. Knead the dough and knead well. The dough should be soft. It may take a little more liquid or a little less, depending on how dry your flour is. P
  5. ut the dough into a clean cup, cover with a lid or plastic wrap. Let the dough stand in a warm place for 40-60 minutes.
  6. During this time, we will prepare the rest of the products for the recipe.
  7. We cook the chicken with potatoes, as always, but this time with sweet pepper. Finely chop the onion and fry in a wok or cauldron in vegetable oil until transparent.
  8. Add chicken pieces to the onion and lightly fry.
  9. Cut the bell peppers into strips and send them to the pan with chicken.
  10. In the end, add the potatoes, season with salt and black pepper. Pour water (broth). The liquid level should be 1-1.5 cm below the potatoes with meat.
  11. Roll out the dough into a rectangular layer. Lubricate the dough with vegetable oil.
  12. Fold the greased dough layer three times.
  13. We cut the dough across into small pieces.
  14. We connect two blanks together and press down well on top with a pencil or a Chinese stick.
  15. We remove the stick. Roll the pressed dough around the fingers with the smooth side inward. We pinch the edges. The result is a flaky workpiece.
  16. You can first twist the pressed dough piece and then join the edges. You will get a curly bun-donut.
  17. We spread the dough blanks on potatoes with chicken. It is advisable to have time to layout the donuts before the liquid boils. Cover and cook chicken with potatoes and dill pampushki for a couple of 20 minutes after boiling. Do not open the lid.
  18. Favorite stewed potatoes with meat and immediately with steamed buns-donuts!
