Rice with Vegetables for Garnish

This side dish is ideal for meat and chicken. Also, rice with vegetables is good as a separate dish in the fast.

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • Rice – 2 cups
  • Carrots – 1 pc.
  • Bulb onions – 1 pc.
  • Canned green peas – 1 can (300 g)
  • Vegetable oil (or butter) – 50 g
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Favorite spices

Directions

  1. You need a deep frying pan with a lid.
  2. Peel carrots and onions. Wash. Cut the onion into cubes. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
  3. Heat a frying pan. Pour 50 g of vegetable oil (melt the butter). Fry vegetables in a skillet, stirring occasionally for 4-5 minutes.
  4. Open a jar of peas. (You can take fresh or ice cream.) Boil a kettle of boiling water. We’ll need it soon.
  5. Add green peas. Simmer everything together for another 5 minutes.
    Season with salt and pepper and add your favorite spices.
  6. Pour rice on top, spreading it over the entire area.
  7. And immediately, without stirring, pour boiling water directly from the kettle. Pour a lot of water, everything should be covered with 1 cm of water. As it boils, cover with a lid and set the smallest fire.
  8. Cooking time is 20-30 minutes. Taste the rice for readiness. If ready, allow excess water to boil.
